Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Dahiya said that if the infected individual consumes the essential elements in their food, then they can be cured quickly. while Sharing the food-related instructions with vegetarians, he told that patients nutrition chart should contain more grains like brown rice, wheat flour, oatmeal and millet.

The Department of Health has released the required nutrition chart for Covid Infected people. Necessary catering instructions of the infected individuals have been issued under the chart. It tells what to eat and what not to eat. Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Dahiya said that if the infected people consume the essential things in their food, then their recovery can be accelerated.

WHAT TO EAT?

Dr. Dahiya said that infected persons should include sources of protein such as beans or lentils etc. in their food. Corona infected patients should also include fresh fruits and vegetables in their diet chart, especially paprika, carrots, beets, and green greens. He told that corona infected people must drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day and hydrate themselves.

Water helps to wash out the toxins in the body. Citrus fruits such as lemons or oranges are good sources of vitamin ‘C’ which help enhance a person’s immune system and reduce infections, so patients should consume more and more citrus fruits. Other foods should include spices like ginger, garlic, and turmeric in one’s diet, this is a natural immunity booster. One should eat homemade foods. No junks at all. Cook food in low cholesterol oil. Wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly.

Include sources of protein and calcium in your food such as low fat milk and yogurt. They said that if the corona-infected patient is a non-vegetarian, store non-veg separately and include non-fat protein sources such as skinless chicken, fish, and egg white.

He told that the corona-infected patient should also refrain from eating and drinking some specific foods. During this time, refined items like refined flour, fried food, or junk food should be avoided. Packaged juice and cold drinks should not be drunk. Unsaturated fats such as coconut, butter and palm oil should not be consumed. Similarly, a non-vegetarian person should avoid eating mutton, liver, fried and processed meat.

Boil 2 cups of water, add loads of ginger, turmeric, and black pepper. Boil them until the quantity becomes half. Add one spoon of lemon juice while serving. Serve hot.
