Responsibilities :
• Evaluate and assess the nutrition status of patients, and screen patients for nutritional risk in
accordance with established department protocols and standards.
• Plans and initiates medical nutrition therapy for patients if indicated by patient requirements and
clinical protocols.
• Educates and counsels patients and families on nutritional issues, either individually or in
groups.
• Communicates individualized patient nutritional care plans to other health care providers as a
member of a healthcare team.
• Monitors patient care providers’ participation; identifies and resolves problems between care
providers and patients.
• Orders and maintains an inventory of program supplies, including patient checks, for all clinics.
• Maintains professional growth and development through the completion of required
departmental competencies.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by seniors and in-charges.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or an equivalent field; fresher or at least 1 year of
experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Certification of IDA – membership or IDA Registered Dietician (RD).
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under direct supervision, provides disease-specific diet and nutrition education to patients and
their families; certifies patients for specific dietary modifications and therapeutic diet
interventions. Performs a range of clinical nutrition-related functions required to ensure efficient
nutrition transitions and good clinical outcomes.
