Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, announced on Monday the launch of Adani Health City (AHC) in collaboration with Mayo Clinic, the well-known U.S.-based medical institution. This partnership is set to pave the way for world-class medical research, affordable healthcare, and education in India.

As part of this initiative, the Adani family will contribute Rs 6,000 crore to establish two integrated health campuses in Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Each campus will feature a 1,000-bed multi-specialty hospital, along with medical colleges aimed at nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

This generous Rs 6,000 crore donation is part of a broader Rs 10,000 crore social initiative recently announced by Gautam Adani at his son Jeet Adani’s wedding, which will be allocated toward various social causes, including healthcare and education.

Gautam Adani also revealed plans to create more Adani Health Cities in other cities and towns across the country. “I am very proud to announce the launch of Adani Health City in association with Mayo Clinic (USA), with a focus on launching world-class medical research, affordable education and healthcare”, he said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Starting with two 1,000-bed hospitals and medical colleges in Mumbai and Ahemdabad, our mission is to bring cutting-edge medical innovation to India. This is just the beginning of a stronger, healthier India, one campus at a time,” Adani noted.

Mayo Clinic’s Expertise

Mayo Clinic, the world’s largest integrated not-for-profit medical group practice, will offer its technical expertise to help ensure excellence in healthcare at these new campuses. Each Adani Health City campus will include not only multi-specialty hospitals, but also medical colleges with an intake of 150 undergraduates annually, along with 80+ residents and 40+ fellows. Additionally, the campuses will provide step-down and transitional care facilities, as well as cutting-edge research facilities.

The AHC ecosystem is designed to serve individuals from all socio-economic backgrounds, while training the next generation of doctors and focusing on clinical research, artificial intelligence, and biomedical informatics.

Mayo Clinic will also provide strategic advice through Mayo Clinic Global Consulting to help guide the organizational structure and clinical practices at these campuses. Additionally, the U.S.-based institution will offer guidance on integrating technology, particularly in digital health and healthcare quality enhancement.

A Vision for India’s Healthcare Future

Gautam Adani recently shared his family’s big-picture vision for India’s future—particularly in healthcare, education, and skill development. Just two years ago, the family committed a huge sum of Rs 60,000 crore to help drive change in these areas. “Adani Health City is only the beginning. It’s the first of many projects we’re launching to make world-class, affordable healthcare available to everyone across India,” Adani said, clearly invested in making a real difference.

He also talked about the excitement of partnering with Mayo Clinic, emphasizing that this collaboration is going to have a massive impact on healthcare in India. “partnering with Mayo Clinic, the world’s largest integrated healthcare group, will raise the standard of care in India, especially when it comes to treating the complex diseases and driving forward medical research,” he added. It’s obvious that this partnership is a key part of Adani’s plan to bring about real change in the country’s healthcare system.

Plans for Expansion and the Road Ahead

While the first two Adani Health City campuses are set to be built in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, Adani isn’t stopping there. He envisions expanding this initiative to other cities and towns across India. The ultimate goal? To ensure that high-quality healthcare is within reach for everyone, everywhere in India, while also strengthening the country’s overall healthcare infrastructure.

This collaboration between the Adani Group and Mayo Clinic is set to make a real difference in India’s healthcare system. These new campuses will do more than just provide excellent care—they’ll focus on education and research as well, ensuring that both patients and future healthcare professionals benefit. This initiative is all about improving lives today, while paving the way for a healthier tomorrow.
