It encourages hair growth. An avocado has a natural ability to fight free radicals which assures a healthy scalp. A hair mask comprising avocado will prevent dandruff and irritation to the scalp while also making them silkier and bouncier.

Avocado + banana hair mask:

Avocado is rich in vitamin E, which helps moisturize your hair and make them thicker. The natural oils, potassium, carbohydrates, and vitamins in bananas aid soften and protect your hair from damage and further breakage.

Method to make the mask:

  1. Blend together 1 medium-sized ripe avocado and 1 small ripe banana.
  2. Add 1 tbsp each of olive oil and wheat germ oil to this mixture.
  3. Gently massage this mask into your hair, including the roots and tips.
  4. After 30 minutes, rinse with tap water and sulfate-free shampoo.

Tip: For best results, apply this mask twice a week.

Gooseberry + Shikakai powder+ Coconut Oil hair mask

Commonly known as amla, this fruit is a rich source of antioxidants, vitamin C, flavonoids, all of which help achieve a healthy scalp, thereby promoting hair growth and texture. Coconut oil moisturizes and nourishes your hair while shikakai helps strengthen your hair roots.

Method to make the mask:

  1. Mix 1 tbsp each of shikakai powder and amla in 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and bring to a boil.
  2. Strain this oil. Massage slowly and gently onto your scalp before going to bed.
  3. In the morning, rinse your hair with shampoo.

Tip: You can apply this mask every week.

Flaxseed Hair Mask

Flaxseeds are abundant in omega-3 fatty acids and proteins, which help boost thick hair. Besides holding dandruff under control, it also helps improve hair elasticity.

Method To make the mask:

  1. Soak a quarter cup or so of flaxseeds in water. Keep it overnight.
  2. Next morning, add 2 cups of water to the flaxseeds and bring it to a boil.
  3. When it thickens, decrease the flame and squeeze the juice of half a lemon in it.
  4. After a few minutes, turn off the flame and let it cool.
  5. Add some drops of any essential oil of your choice.

Tip: You can utilize this as a styling gel regularly or apply and leave overnight. The next morning, rinse as usual.
